THE election nominations for West Devon Borough Council closed at 4pm on Thursday, April 9.

A total of 29 of 31 council seats are being contested by 65 candidates at an election to be held on Thursday, May 7.

Candidates for the Tavistock area seats are as follows:

Bere Ferrers, two seats: Mike Benson, Conservative; Jim Chalcraft, Conservative; Judy Sara Maciejowska, Green Party; Kate Medhurst, Labour; Robin Musgrave; Dave Pengelly, UK Independence Party (UKIP).

Bridestowe, two seats: John Hockridge, Independent; Julie Anne Beverley Lewis-Thompson, Green Party; Caroline Marie Mott, Conservative; Alison Jane Young, Labour.

Buckland Monachorum, two seats: Ric Cheadle, Independent; Philip Richard Sanders, Conservative; Lucy Jane Wood, Green Party.

Burrator, two seats: Dave William Cloke, Independent; Bridget Elizabeth Cole, Independent; Ross Lynn, Green Party; Diana Elizabeth Moyse, Conservative.

Dartmoor, one seat: Annabel Elizabeth Giles Roberts, Conservative; Mandi St Clair, Green Party.

Mary Tavy, one seat: Michael Arthur Fife Cook, Independent; Terry Pearce, Independent.

Milton Ford, one seat: Bob Baldwin, Conservative; David John Whitcomb, Independent.

Tamarside, one seat: Neville Edward Baynes, Conservative; Chris Edmonds, Independent.
