PUT your two feet forward for a great four-footed day of fun at Okehampton's Simmons Park this Sunday, June 28.

Okehampton and District Lions Club's donkey derby, companion and family dog show will provide a great day out with host of entertainment for animal lovers.

Gates open at 11am and admission is free. The first race gets underway two hours later — giving an entertaining commentary will be a voice well known to Devon residents, Ian Brass of BBC Radio Devon.

The donkey derby will see six races of six donkeys with a final seventh race of the winner from each heat.

Also on offer will be 'sulkey' races with riders using skill to control their 'pony and trap-style' vehicles around a race course.

Forty trade stands and the companion and dog show will add to the variety of the day.

And for children, there is a drawing competition.

All in all, it looks set to be a great family day out. And even the weather forecast is supporting the event — it's looking like a sunny Sunday!

All proceeds from the fun-packed day will go Okehampton and district charities and organisations.
