A TOTAL of £1,700 was raised for charities at an evening of entertainment at Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall.

The hall was filled to capacity to watch the Country Company, Wales' premier country music duo and Norfolk's comedian and accordion player 'Nigel Boy Syer'. Compere was Graham Hockin.

The show was presented by Brenda Harris who handed a £1,300 cheque to Bude Lifeboat on the night. Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall will receive £200 and the village's school room fund will also receive £200.
