THE CHANGEABLE spring weather may be casting a cloud over many people ? but for one Okehampton charity it?s having a more serious impact. The recently renovated Hospiscare shop usually sees a flood of good quality clothing donated to it as the season changes and people have their annual spring clear-out. This year, however, unpredictably fluctuating temperatures means that people seem to have been clinging on to old winter wardrobes for longer. The shop is also concerned that their move to smaller premises seems to have given the impression that they are less in need of stock. Shop manager Mrs Meaker said: ?We still need just as much good quality clothing that?s suitable for reselling. ?We?re really desperate for any used clothing in a good condition - but people don?t seem to be bringing much in.? Hospiscare raises money to fund a hospice and daycentre in Exeter, as well as a team of 28 community nurses who support people with life-threatening illnesses in their own homes. It is open for donations of clothing from 9am until 4.30pm six days a week.
