FOUR dogs were rescued by firefighters from a property in Callington last Friday.
Firefighters from Callington and Liskeard were called just after midnight to Merryhue Farm, a detached two-storey dwelling measuring approximately eight metres by ten metres, with the ground floor well alight.
Teams of firefighters used high pressure hosereels to extinguish the fire and rescued four dogs from the premises. The positive pressure fan was also used at the incident.
West Country Ambulance attended and treated one person for the effects of smoke inhalation. The casualty was then transferred to hospital.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: 'Crews were delayed for some time damping down and turning over, the last appliance returning to home station at approximately 3.30am.'
