A DISCO in memory of 12-year-old Charlotte Saunders from Belstone, who tragically died in a river accident in October, is being held in Okehampton on Saturday night with all proceeds going to the Devon Air Ambulance.
Charlotte, who lived at Eastlake Farm and Riding Stables, knew a lot of people through her connection with horses and it is hoped many of these will attend the event at The Pretoria and give generously to the charity.
Charlotte's family is grateful to the services of the air ambulance which attended the scene of the accident on October 26 where the Okehampton College pupil was swept into the River Okement after falling from her pony Jake.
Donations at Charlotte's funeral at South Tawton Parish Church raised in the region of £1,000 for the Devon Air Ambulance.
Charlotte's father David, and her guardians Bernie Jones and Claire White have expressed their thanks to everyone who had made a donation.
'The money is still coming in and it is a marvellous amount, said Bernie. 'It is lovely to think so many people thought so much of Charlotte to give in this way.'
A sponsored pony ride in memory of the youngster is being planned for the New Year.
The disco begins at 7.30pm and finishes at 11pm.
