Premier Cup final St Columb Major 4 Gunnislake 1 IN awful weather conditions Gunnislake produced one of their poorest performances this season and duly lost to highly placed Saint Columb. To their credit Saints coped much better with a strong wind and deserved their win. Gunnislake started poorly and defensive errors contributed to them being three down inside 25 minutes. From a Stuart Wakenshaw corner, Steff Kelly produced a good header to reduce the arrears. Before the interval Kelly?s younger brother and leading scorer Jarryd was unlucky not to score when he struck the cross bar. For the most part the second half was even but Saints scored in this period and ended any faint hopes Gunnislake had of getting back into the match. Duchy Premier Gunnislake 1 Godolphin 5 A TWO goal victory would have seen the visitors claim the league title if Polperro failed to beat Boscastle ? however this was not to be. Godolphin duly got the result they needed, but so too did Polperro and so it is they who are the premier division champions. The visitors took an early lead but were soon pegged back when Steff Kelly curled home a shot from some 30 yards. The visitors were not to be denied and despite some good Andy Woodward saves went on to record a convincing win. A disappointing end to the season for Gunnislake as they finish eighth out of 15 with 11 wins and four draws from their 28 league matches.
