CUSTOMERS?at the Royal?Oak Inn at?Meavy raised funds for 'Beating Bowel Cancer' during a charity dinner and auction.

A three-course dinner was supported by the inn and their suppliers: Dartmoor Farmers, Tamar View Fruiterers, Howells Butchers, Tavistock, Caterfood, of Paignton, Moby Nicks, of Plymouth, and St Austell Brewery.

After the auction, supporters were entertained with free live music from local band 'doxRox'.

A collected £4,159 went to the Beating Bowel Cancer charity, as presented by Stephen Earp to Rebecca Harwood with staff Frankie Foster and Caroline Murray.

Rebecca, a nurse at Derriford Gastro Eneterology ward, is running the London Marathon on April 21 for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity.

Thanks for their generosity and support were expressed to all the Royal Oak's customers and to the businesses that donated the lots for the auction.
