A WEST Devon attraction welcomed a BBC production crew recently to be featured on the popular evening BBC television programme 'The One Show'.

The crews visited The Fairground Heritage Trust at Lifton for the piece about travelling menageries.

The film, which features three locations including the heritage centre, is scheduled to be aired on June 23 and will be presented by former BBC political correspondent and Strictly Come Dancing contestant John Sergeant.

John interviewed Simon DeVey, partner in the fairground business of Anderton and Rowland. The firm originally started with a travelling menagerie, with a band wagon pulled by an Indian elephant around the Westcountry in the 1890s.

The firm's grand organ, 19th century living van and three Scammell trucks are all on display at the Fairground Heritage Centre.
