Both born and bred in Calstock parish, the couple attended the former Delaware Secondary Modern School and were married at the former Albaston Methodist Church in April, 1950 by the Rev R Bowles.
Mrs Howe's late parents owned the sub Post Office in Albaston and Mr Howe lived in Gunnislake.
In their working lives, Mr Howe was a market gardener and carried on his own business in Calstock, assisted by Mrs Howe, and later became manager of the old chip basket factory in Calstock.
In his younger days Mr Howe played football for local teams but nowadays enjoys a game of snooker.
The couple have two sons, four grandsons and six great grandchildren.
