A TAVISTOCK couple were surrounded by family to help celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary this month.
Stuart and Audrey Newcombe have been residents of Tavistock since the late 1950s and celebrated their anniversary at Chollacott Nursing Home with their sons Philip and David; four generations in all of the family.
Stuart worked in the GPO Repeater Station in Plymouth Road and Audrey worked at Harewood House in the 1970s.
Both were active in the town's main church with Stuart serving as a Sub Deacon and Audrey with the Mothers' Union. They were also active members of the Tavistock Folk Club.
The family were most appreciative of Chollacott Nursing Home for the celebration tea and drinks and were delighted to receive a congratulatory card from the Queen.
