AFTER a week of bad weather, the two teams were indebted to the hardworking groundstaff that there was any play on Saturday. The rain-affected wicket, though, made stroke play difficult and Oxfordshire were soon in trouble due to a lively opening spell from Jodie Dibble. She finished with four wickets for ten runs and with Emily Ward taking three for nine, Oxfordshire were all out for 46. In reply, Devon began slowly and had to contend with constant interuptions due to rain. However, after the fall of an early wicket, Hatherleigh player Frances Lausen with 23 not out saw Devon home. Devon?s U13s Girls (47-1) beat Oxfordshire (46 all out) by nine wickets at Killerton, near Exeter. Devon U13 Girls now face Kent in the semi-final on August 4.
