HOLIDAY group Devon Farms has started the 2007 season in strong form with a new website. It was designed by a team led by Katherine Harding, of Carswell Farm Cottages, and included award winning webmistress and Devon Farms member Kate Price and the design company Mouseworx. Its development costs were partly funded through Broadband 4 Devon. The website is a product of research last year canvassing the views of Devon Farms members and their guests. In its first three months of operation the site exceeded expectations with unique visitor hits increasing over 50% compared with the same period last year. The fact that visitors are finding it easier to use has been well illustrated by a dramatic drop in links to the Devon Farms Helpline for brochures and guidance in choosing a farm. By running the project in-house the co-operative has saved its members more than £3,000 in development costs.
