THE Devon and Dorset Regiment is changing its name and that?s sad. But its spirit lives on. Lots of former members of this great county regiment and its proud predecessors, the Devons, and the Dorsets, live in and around Tavistock. It?s time we got together. The Royal British Legion in King Street, Tavistock, has opened its doors to us at 12 noon on Monday April 3. There will be no formality and no fees; we just pay for the beer! This will simply be a gathering of like-minded Janners who want to know what is going on. All ex-Devons, Dorsets and D and D within reach are invited to give Maxy Courtis a ring on 01822 834802 if they can make it ? or if they can?t but would like to come another time. This will be a first for Tavistock. We hope for a good crowd of old friends to make a success of it. And if we enjoy ourselves we might repeat it from time to time.
