Dismal weather has failed to put a dampener on the spirits of Tavistock's Stacey Barrett-Nicholls, who is training for her first Ten Tors Jubilee Challenge. There was no dry-run for Stacey, who braved appalling elements on Dartmoor, as part of the Challenge's demanding training schedule.  Stacey, 20, is a day student at the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust in Ivybridge, one of the country's leading providers of education and care for young people with profound physical disabilities. She will be walking the seven-and-a-half mile course on Saturday, using a Meywalker frame to aid her mobility.  The Jubilee Challenge traditionally kick-starts the gruelling annual Ten Tors weekend, which begins on Saturday morning. It is a demanding route designed for young people with special needs, that pushes every participant to the limit. Dame Hannah's PE co-ordinator Nicky Lloyd, who will be leading Stacey and two other young people along the route, said:  'The Jubilee Challenge is a real test of courage and determination. Such appalling weather proves that Dartmoor doesn't discriminate in terms of having to push yourself to the limit.  'Stacey is very committed and performed brilliantly in our soggy training session. 'We hope the weather will be better for the Jubilee Challenge itself, but the only guaranteed forecast we have is that Stacey's determined to come home with a bronze medal on Saturday afternoon.'
