Okehampton Columbines 2nds 1 Mannamead 1 OKEHAMPTON started off by playing fantastic hockey ? Grace Thorpe charging up the centre with Hannah Whitely and Sophie Cunnington there to support her. Mannamead tried to get a goal but backs Amanda Sim and Carol Taylor worked hard in defending. Goalie Sophie Whitely had an excellent game, stopping all balls that came to the goal. Sophie Cunnington managed to chip in a ball to Mannamead?s goal, however it was disallowed due to the umpire?s decision. In the second half Okehampton came onto the pitch really determined to win. Captain Rachel Hammett and Sarah Jones had a great game pushing the ball up the pitch. After only a few minutes Hannah Whitely scored Okehampton?s goal. Claire Smith played brilliantly helping to defend and attack. Okehampton really worked well to keep the score. Unfortunately Mannamead managed to get an equaliser in the last 30 seconds of the game. Okehampton played a fantastic game and were unfortunate not to win. Man of the match: Sarah Jones.
