Carlsberg South Western League Truro City 0 Tavistock 0 THE Lambs? good form continued with a battling performance that saw them come away from Treyew Road with an unexpected but very deserved point against the current leaders of the league. The home side has spent a considerable amount of money to secure the services of half a dozen players with previous experience with National league clubs but they could not penetrate a resultant Lambs? defence. Sean Cann remained injured with James Steer and Nigel Pugh returning and John Hajiyianni reverting to the bench. Truro started off at a lively pace and their best chances came in the first 15 minutes. A well worked free kick saw Andy Meeds save from Andy Bowker. A breakaway from a Lambs? free kick saw Meeds palm away a Stuart Yetton effort and Glynn Hooper blast over from out wide. The Lambs? side gained in confidence as the first half progressed. Glynn Hobbs shot at the keeper and Will Stringer headed over the bar from a Shane Krac cross. No one could get on the end of a Hobbs low cross into the area and Krac saw his corner kick go past the wrong side of the far post all around the 30 minute mark. The Lambs created the best chance of the second half in the 46th minute when John Morris?s shot was fumbled by keeper Andy Butcher with Paul Adcock judged to be offside as he followed up. Chances were at a premium throughout the second half as the home side pressed for an opener but some woeful finishing by them, great defending by the Lambs swallowed up everything that came their way to ensure a share of the points. Forthcoming fixtures: Saturday: Carlsberg away to Goonhavern 2-30pm; Plymouth & West Devon home to Yealm 2-15pm. Wednesday, February 22 ? Carlsberg away to Wadebridge 7.30pm.
