MAY we through your newspaper take the opportunity to thank all those who have supported our efforts in raising money for Derriford Hospital Kidney Unit. Also to thank friends and relatives whose help has been vital in making our efforts a success.
We thought that our supporters would like to know how the funds have been spent:
2001: £852, two wheelchairs, renal unit, for general use; £1,000, seating in refurbished out patients clinic; £325, wheelchair, out patients clinic; £340, stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors, outpatients; £428, software, outpatients; £50, wheelchair, Avon ward (second hand, refurbished).
2003: £3,000, Carey ward, easy chairs.
2004: £1,000 Carey ward, more chairs; £1,200 Avon ward, Haemodialysis for special cushions; £1,000 out patients for automated blood pressure machine and tympanic monitor.
We spend many hours in preparing goods for our stalls at various events ? we make marmalade, jams, chutneys and a wide variety of craft goods. Many items of bric-a-brac, clothing and toys are donated, then cleaned and repaired. Anything we cannot use, we pass on to other charities who can make use of them
Once again thank you all so much. See you at the next Alladin?s, Saturday February 7.
