UNINHABITED places around Devon will be the focus of a new exhibition of paintings at the Arts Gallery in Red Lion Yard, Okehampton next month.
?Wild Country? by Jane Witheridge contains around a dozen paintings in acrylics on canvas featuring wild landscapes around the county including many capturing the rugged isolation of Dartmoor.
Plymouth-based artist Jane has had a couple of previous solo shows in Okehampton, as well as a number much further afield.
Four years ago, she exhibited in Chicago after her work was picked out by American gallery owners. She had previously had solo shows at the Dartington Cider Press Centre, the Chase Art Gallery in Cornwall and the Phoenix Arts Centre in Exeter.
Jane has also been commissioned to create silk paintings for a mental health care unit in South Devon, and seven large paintings for the Chapel of Rest within Derriford Hospital.
She has also been commissioned to illustrate a book with black and white line drawings, and has held numerous masterclasses, lectures and workshops.
?Wild Country? runs at the Arts Gallery in Red Lion Yard, until December 10.
