THERE were 42 Yelverton Golf Club veterans who played in the second round of their Jim Ball competition last week. The weather was dry and despite a brisk and biting north easterly wind there were some good scores.

The winner in division one was Dennis Voisin, scoring 36 points, closely followed be Bryan Blaber and Eric Whyte on 32.
The winner of division two was Graham Steen with 39 points. Don Read, Peter Taylor and Dave Hitchcock came second with 36 and Nick Ring third with 35 points.
There were five vets with twos – Bob Griffin, Brian Lamb, Bryan Blaber, David Kiver and Graham Steen.
Yelverton veterans played their home match against a strong team form Churston Golf Club, beating the visitors 5-1.
