WEST Devon services are joining forces with Tavistock Area Support Services next month to launch a Dementia Café at the Anchorage Centre. TASS in partnership with Devon Adult and Community Services, NHS, the Alzheimer?s Society, and the Rotary Club will launch the café at the start of Dementia Awareness Week on Saturday, July 1 from 2pm to 4pm. Andy Lyle, manager of TASS, said: ?This is a wonderful new service with both the voluntary and public sector working together in partnership to benefit people living within the local area.? People who have memory loss and those who care for them can meet in a social setting as well as people who have an interest in this area. Debra Fox, member of Devon Adult and Community Services said: ?This is a great opportunity to provide social support for people in the community who might have previously felt excluded, as well as a chance to provide information on an informal basis.?
