PLAYTIME at a West Devon primary school is a lot more fun now after the installation of new playground equipment.
During the autumn, the school council of St Andrew's Primary School in Buckland Monachorum, carried out a survey and researched a variety of playground equipment specifically aimed for key stage two children.
Greenscheme is a local firm which supplies and installs playground equipment made from recycled materials.
The school council chose to use this firm to promote the use of recycled materials and to support a local firm, in addition to really liking the look of the equipment.
The Tumble Bars cost a total of £1,250 to buy with installation at an additional charge.
Each class organised their own events to raise funds to buy the equipment, with a target of having enough money to buy in the spring term.
After lots of hard work, the children raised more than £700 and with a generous donation from the PTA, the school was able to buy the equipment before the end of term.
Parent Simon White and a willing group of fathers offered to install the equipment and the school can now enjoy the new colourful bars.
Thanks were expressed to Greenscheme and the children and parents of St Andrew's Primary.
