FOURTEEN-year-old local karting champion James Clarkson (pictured left) recently completed a week's work experience at Jaguar Racing in Milton Keynes.
James, who attends Launceston College, is set on a career in motorsport so when the opportunity to spend a week with the Jaguar F1 team arose he jumped at the chance.
'Working at Jaguar F1 has been a fantastic experience and it has given me an insight into how a top motor racing team operates,' he said.
James is backed this year by SMB of Tavistock and Countryside Furnishings of Launceston, He is looking for additional backing for 2002 to enable him to compete in the national championships in what, he hopes, will be his last year in karts before moving on to cars.
