TAVISTOCK started brightly and weathered some early pressure from an impressive Barnstaple side, which included several county players.
The visitors were unable to contain some explosive running by the hosts centres and they quickly racked up five first half tries and four conversions.
Tavistock were resilient throughout and late first half pressure by the pack, led by the front row of Zac Cinnamond, Ash Toll and Billy Boulton permitted centres Monty Burdfield and Richie Coker to cause havoc in the home sides 22. A resulting scrum, won by Tavistock led to Zac Cinnamond driven over for a try by the excellent second row pairing of Harry Birt and Ben Parkin. Monty Burdfield successfully converted taking the match to half time at 33-7.
The second half saw further back dominance by Barnstaple who ran in a further four tries without reply. Despite what appeared to be a heavy defeat, the overall performance of the Tavistock squad was excellent throughout with every player totally commited to the cause.
