WEST Devon Borough Council will discuss a planning application for a Tesco store on the site of the former Focus DIY outlet in Plymouth Road in Tavistock on December 3.
The proposal, which is being opposed by Tavistock Chamber of Commerce because of its potential impact on the town centre, will create 105 jobs and bring a site which has been vacant for two years back into use.
The application has been submitted by owners of the building Marchfield Properties who held a public consultation on the plans earlier this year.
To date there have been 193 letters of representation to the borough council, 147 in favour and 46 against.
