A WOMAN who works at North Park Vets, based in North Tawton, recently completed the New York Marathon — raising more than £3,500 for two charities.
Deborah Cunningham ran the marathon on Sunday, November 2, with friend Carol Barkwell.
Deborah had done one previous marathon last spring in Halstead, Essex, where she grew up, and managed 4hrs 18mins in hot conditions.
She easily beat that time in New York and ran the 26.2 miles in 3hrs 55mins and 26secs, finishing just under the all important four-hour barrier.
Deborah raised money for Cancer Research UK and ARC.
She expressed thanks to everyone who sponsored her to complete the race, and who gave support and help during the months and miles of training.
