IT was with great sadness that the community learned of the sudden death of well-known Okehampton farmer?s wife Mrs Pamela Dulcie Voaden at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital on February 28. She was 70.

Born in Lydford, she lived locally until she married Bill Voaden in 1954. Together they farmed at Youlditch for 43 years before retiring to Okehampton.

Pam was the secretary of Meldon Village Hall for more than 25 years and was trade stand secretary at Okehampton Agricultural Show for the past ten years.

She attended Hatherleigh Market regularly and had a lot of friends both in the town and country.

A thanksgiving service will be held at Okehampton Parish Church on Tuesday, March 11 at noon followed by cremation at Exeter. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, for Devon Air Ambulance, may be given at the service or sent to Colin Bater, funeral director, 20 Station Road, Okehampton.
