MAY Day was celebrated at dawn at Merrivale last Thursday with singing and dancing — despite the poor weather. The Dawn Chorus event was led by Caroline Keane and Maggi Squire as part of the Tavistock Music Festival, and culminated with a hearty breakfast at Princetown's Fox Tor Café. The Dawn Chorus was sponsored by Stresscare and with the sale of a painting and donations, £185 was raised for the charity, which supports post traumatic stress disorder sufferers.
