WEST Devon man Dave Dobson heads to London next month to take part in this year?s Flora London Marathon. Dave, fulfilling lives manager for day services for adults with learning disabilities in Okehampton, has been training for the event for several months and aims to raise much needed funds for two local charities, Get Changed Theatre Company and Okehampton and District Mencap. Dave has been a keen runner for many years and has taken part in numerous national and countywide events. He said: ?Thousands of charities benefit from the London Marathon every year. ?I am happy to choose these two local charities to benefit from my efforts.? Vicky Hooper from Get Changed Theatre Company said: ?We are extremely grateful to Dave for his support with fundraising and we would like to encourage everyone to get in touch and make a donation. ?Get Changed and Mencap have been working with people with learning disabilities from the local area for many years and in order to keep going we need continued support with fundraising.? The marathon takes place on Sunday, April 23, attracting a field of more than 30,000 athletes.
