A DARTMOOR tourist organisation is this month launching a new initiative, aimed at helping businesses and residents in the community. The Dartmoor Tourist Association has compiled an on-line classified directory of trades, services and professions on and around Dartmoor, which it hopes will enable businesses and residents to trade locally more easily. A spokesman for the DTA said: ?It offers quick and simple access to a wide range of businesses from a florist to a plumber, organic food retailers to an adventure stag/hen party provider.? The easy to navigate website is called http://www.dartmoordirectory.co.uk">www.dartmoordirectory.co.uk ? the intention is that the directory will continue to grow, providing an ever larger selection of businesses. The DTA is an ever-growing group of businesses with a membership that has nearly trebled to almost 600 over the last two years. It is a not-for-profit organisation and works with its various partners to promote Dartmoor and help local businesses. For businesses wishing to have the benefits of membership and entry on the website for a year the annual total cost is £50 + VAT, with a £10 + VAT reduction for chamber of trade members. Details can be obtained from the website or the DTA office. Ring 01822 890567 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
