AT the end of a hard day on the road, five cyclists stopped at Okehampton to talk to customers about the benefits of eating a healthy diet.
Team Selenium were cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise awareness of the benefits of eating a healthy diet to ensure people have enough selenium.
Leader Ian Leach said: 'It was a long day but stopping at the Okehampton Co-op store and talking to people makes the effort worthwhile.'
Recent research has shown that on average Europeans receive 30% less selenium than the recommended daily allowance. Selenium is found in natural products such as fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs and dairy products and is the key element of ensuring a healthy immune system.
The team are hoping to finish the full 930 miles in nine days.
