LAST Thursday week saw the continuation of the Okehampton Cycling Club summer time trial series on the 10 mile course tracing the old A30 road from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back. With a dry evening a field of eight cyclists from Okehampton and Tavistock turned up to test their fitness against the clock. Andy Retter was again fastest on the night clocking a time of 25 mins 47 secs, followed by the improving Andy Bowyer on 27.59. On the previous night a number of Okehampton riders took part in an open 10 mile time trial event hosted by Tamar Cycling Club. The fastest club member was Andy Bowyer on 24.36 and Jacky Rice claimed the fastest lady prize with a time of 25.13.
