FIREFIGHTERS from Princetown and Yelverton were called to the B3357 Tavistock Road near Princetown last Wednesday (January 14), after a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision in which one person was trapped.

Firefighters, together with the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor, were requested by police. Shortly after arriving at 9.37am, crews confirmed a woman was severely trapped in a 4x4 and they set to work stabilising the vehicle before removing her with hydraulic cutting equipment.

Once released into the care of the paramedics, the woman was transferred to hospital via road ambulance.
