IN ONE of the most amazing games of the season Polperro took the lead after about 10 minutes. Lewdown pulled a goal back through Danny Partridge with a curling shot. Kevin Swift made it 2-1 and Charlie Hughes made it 3-1.
Lewdown rode their luck with Polperro coming close to scoring when twice they had chances cleared off the goal-line.
The second half started fairly even with both teams creating chances. Lewdown made it 4-1 when Kevin Swift scored his second.
Lewdown thought the game was in the bag but it was not over yet. Polperro scored for a 4-2 scoreline when a shot from the edge of the area went under Justin Whyatt in the goal.
Before you knew it Polperro scored two goals in the space of five minutes for 4-4.
Lewdown then made a substitution and Steve Cowley scored for 5-4.
Polperro then equalised with a shot that just crept over the goal-line, then took the lead for 6-5, but Lewdown would not give in and Steve Cowley scored his second for 6-6.
Minutes later Danny Partridge scored his second of the match for 7-6 and finally after good work from Adrian Vernon, Andrew Vernon crossed the ball for Steve Cowley to complete his hat-trick for an unbelievable 8-6 scoreline.
