Devon cup
Kelly College firsts 16
Exeter School firsts 13
THIS was not only a local derby match but also the Devon Cup quarter final too.
The game started well from Kelly's point of view, as Jamie Briant kicked a long range penalty to put Kelly in the lead and it remained that way until the final whistle.
The Kelly College forwards took control from here on in, with the front row of George Harold, Tom Elson-Knight, Chris Monger, Peter Meachin and Ben Abbot really putting pressure on the Exeter pack. It was a real team effort with every player doing their job well.
The Lindsey brothers and Tom Rickard covered a huge amount of ground in both attack and defence, whilst the back line made the right decisions at the right times to keep Exeter in their own half.
Harry MacManus scored a superb individual try, with a chip and chase while Jamie Briant scored every kick he had, which turned out to be the difference in the two sides. It was a good effort from the Kelly team.
