Ju Jitsu Tavistock have been helping 1st Tavistock Cubs towards achieving their 'fitness badge.

Umberto Bergonzini, the club instructor, said: 'The kids weren't quite sure what to expect, but once we got started they really got into it and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Even the leaders joined in and had a go. To this day I am not too sure who enjoyed the class the most, the troops or the leaders!'

Dave Symons, the scout leader, said he was grateful to Umberto for putting on the event and that he and the cubs thoroughly enjoyed the evening of jujitsu training.

The cubs were shown a number of basic moves and the evening was put on as part of the Scouts Fitness Challenge Award and gave them an insight into the discipline and control needed to partake in this martial art.
