THE car has for many years been the lifeblood of market towns, including Tavistock. To exclude them from the main car park, even for the short period of the Goose Fair funfair is detrimental to the town. Rather than increase the fairground rents, cannot the showmen and the Crowndale Recreational Association combine to provide 'all the fun of the fair' on the latter's extensive field? The soon to be completed cyclist/pedestrian bridge connecting Brook Lane with Crowndale Road and both the footpath parallel with the road and the continued cycle/footpath behind the college playing field to the the canal make the change of venue a particularly attractive proposition.
