Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 2 Plymouth Parkway 3 THE Lambs were aggrieved when a crucial decision for a penalty went against them with five minutes left, enabling Parkway to secure the three points. Tavistock started with the same eleven that did well in the Premier Cup the previous week. It was an open game with both sides creating chances but the Lambs could have fared better. Ryan Honey saw his shot fumbled by Parkway keeper Tom Buckler after 15 minutes. Shane Krac shot wide before Honey flashed an effort across goal. Will Stringer headed just wide before Honey audaciously attempted a high volley from just inside the Parkway half that had Buckler scrambling back to hold the ball. Ryan Fice went close for the visitors before they took the lead on the half-hour. From a throw in at the corner flag Karl Curtis put in Lee Doel who scuffed his shot from the edge of the goal area for Martyn Sullivan to scramble the ball over the line. Krac went close again and a defensive blunder by the Lambs almost cost them dearly but Fice just failed to connect from a Sullivan cross. Honey saw another chance go and Lee Ireland did well to clear off the Lambs goalline. But Tavistock were back on level terms on the stroke of half-time. James Steer won the ball in his own half to slide it down the touchline for Glynn Hobbs to collect just inside the Parkway half and go on a twisting run that left defenders for dead. He let fly from the edge of the penalty area for a great individual goal. The Lambs started where they finished off the first half as Honey saw his effort tipped over the bar by Buckler with Hobbs going on another run. But this time Buckler just got enough on the ball and it was cleared. In the 58th minute Lambs defender Mike Arscott looked to have been fouled but play continued for Fice to get into the area to cut the ball back for Lee Doel to shoot home low into the corner. Stringer's protesting got him cautioned over the incident. He then headed over from a Krac cross and within a minute received his marching orders for a second bookable offence. But the ten men responded and seven minutes later were back on level terms with another quality goal. Honey, back in a more midfield position, put Hobbs away down the right and from his cross Steer headed powerfully home. Another run from Hobbs came to nothing before Steer got fouled out wide and from Krac's cross Steve Daly headed just over. Games change in a split second and this one was no exception. Honey raced into the area and looked to have been bundled over as he was about to pull the trigger. Despite strong appeals from players, management and supporters the referee waved play on. Fice and Mike Southgate combined to set up sub Jai Crocker to send in a shot that hit a post and went into the net. All three points for the visitors and a bitter pill to swallow for everyone associated with the Lambs.
