AWARD-winning crime novelist Stephen Booth answered questions from an enthusiastic audience of readers at Tavistock Library last Friday.

The author, who is based in the Peak District, explained how his years as a journalist in Manchester gave him the insight into police procedures to write his books.

Translated into eight languages, his novels have won prizes in the USA and in Britain and in 2003 he won the ?Dagger in the Library? Award presented by the Crime Writers Association.

Reader development officer for Devon libraries Carol Ackroyd said: ?We aim to organise live literature events as this which connect authors and readers and increase people?s enjoyment of reading. Authors and readers alike love to talk about books.?
