THE OCRA Indoor Cricket League got underway this week with defending champions Okehampton coming out on top against Hatherleigh A.
Hatherleigh reached 102 (M Rogers 25 and T Rogers 25) and it was only on the last ball that Okehampton crafted victory.
Nick Goodchild hit 28 and Steve Harris improvised 15 off tight bowling from M Rogers and N Cliff.
Other scores: Hallwill 78 for 4 (John Tidball 29 not out and Brian Knight 7 not out) beat Sticklepath 75 for 6 (Pete Hardy 21) Sticklepath committing the equivalent of cricketing Hari Kari with the whole team run out.
Chagford 101 for 2 (Pete Nolan 27 not out, Tony Niven 23) beat Hatherleigh B 99 for 4 (Chris Jelley 24 and Andy Bennett 33), Pete Nolan outstanding with bat, ball and mouth.
