A CRIB Festival is being held in the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Chagford this weekend.

There will be around 50 cribs (nativity scenes) displayed in the church along with numerous angels.

The crib festival was held for the first time last year.

Festival spokesperson Lucy Shields said: ‘Many of the angels — and some of the cribs — have been made especially for the occasion. Some are very impressionistic, others more conventional — well do you know what an angel looks like?!

‘The tiniest is smaller than a walnut and the largest — well you will have to come along to find out!’

The festival runs from 10am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday (November 22 and 23) and 11am to 5pm on Sunday (November 24).

‘We look forward to welcoming visitors to this special Dartmoor town to view the angels and cribs at the same time as raising funds for our beautiful and historic church,’ added Lucy.
