FIRE crews were sent to tackle a van fire at Denham Bridge, Bere Alston at 6.30am on Sunday.

The van was well alight when the firefighters arrived and crews from Bere Alston and Yelverton used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.

An environmental spill kit was also used due to diesel on the road.
