A YOUNG horse had to be rescued by firefighters on Friday evening after getting trapped in a horse box in Tavistock.

A crew from Tavistock, along with the specialist rescue team from Camel's Head attended reports of a young male horse trapped on a centre bar within a horse box at around 6.20pm on the A386.

The horse was released by fire service personnel and transferred to an equestrian centre for further checks.
