THE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE tent was full of colourful displays and wonderful toys made by the ladies of the region's WI groups.

The theme for the group displays was 'nursery rhymes' and was won by the North Tawton WI group.

Julie Ayre, chairman for the food, craft and skills committee felt the WI tent was doing well at the show: 'We've had a great day with lots of people coming through the tent showing lots of interest. People seem to be enjoying the displays which is the main thing.'

As well as the nursery rhymes competition displays, each group put forward a non-competitive display for the 'toys in stitches' category, with each group having crocheted and sewn toys for the WI show tent.
