I PARKED in the car park at Mole Avon, Okehampton, on Friday and saw a car left unattended in the car park with a tiny new baby in a car seat, and a terrier sat in the front seat. What on earth were the parents thinking of? As a breeder and trainer of dogs myself, I know only too well that it takes only the slightest noise or incident to make a terrier behave in a perfectly natural ?terrier? manner, whether it?s another dog going past the vehicle, or someone walking close to its car . . . or the baby waking up and starting to cry. Nobody in their right mind would leave any breed of dog unattended in a car with a baby, in fact they wouldn?t leave a baby unattended in a car, regardless of whether there was a dog there or not. I can only hope the parents of the baby read this letter and are suitably ashamed. I searched the store for them but couldn?t find them. They are a disgrace to all responsible parents and also a disgrace to anyone who loves dogs, as had their baby been bitten it would have undoubtedly been the poor dog who would have been blamed, and not the idiotic parents!
