THE ladies' section of Yelverton Golf Club have won the Still Cup - for the first time since 1974!

On September 5 the Devon County Ladies' Golf Association held the semi-finals of the

The Yelverton squad consisted of Laura

Eastwood, Gillie Jarvis, Belinda McSherry, Karen Friendship, Alison Measelle, Barbara Perriton and Marie Watson (team Captain) and reserves Dawn Bolt and Di Friend.

Yelverton won, with a nailbiting finish, by four matches to three, to reach the final for the third consecutive year. The final against Churston began on this same warm September day and took place over the same course in wonderful condition. All the matches were fiercely fought and there was some superb golf.

Eventually Yelverton gained a winning margin of four victorious matches and their dream had come true!
