FIRE crews were called to rescue a cow that had gone through the roof of a farm building and was stuck in an inspection pit last Tuesday.

A crew from Bere Alston and the specialist rescue team from Camelshead attended the incident at Holes Hole in Bere Alston, and managed to remove the cow from the inspection pit using specialist rescue equipment. A vet was also in attendance.
