BENJAMIN Darbyshire from Market Place in Hatherleigh will appear at Exeter Crown Court on March 22 following an incident on Thursday, February 15.

Darbyshire appeared at Exeter Magistrates’ Court on February 17 and was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a screwdriver, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, in Bridge Street Car Park, Hatherleigh.

He has also been accused of robbing Benjamin Williams of a Nissan Micra in Hatherleigh; driving the motor vehicle on Upcott Hill, Okehampton, otherwise than in accordance with a licence; driving the car on Upcott Hill without insurance; driving after consuming alcohol that exceeded the prescribed limit and failure to stop for police.
