PROPOSED improvements to the skate park and BMX trail in Okehampton were discussed at a recent meeting of the town council's parks committee.
The council gave their backing to upgrade the facility situated on land behind Brayham's Terrace. It could see a better surface installed for the skate park, improved lighting and a general refurbishment.
A parcel of land next to the existing park, which has been donated by West Devon Borough Council, has been earmarked as a general 'kick around' area for youngsters to play football.
Don Bent, the town clerk, said discussions between the town council and West Devon Borough Council are currently taking place.
