MARK Park Larkers, the Okehampton cricket team, are appealing to local businesses to help them out of a bit of a sticky wicket. The club, who play at Simmons Park, have two teams playing in the Tamar League division C, with the A team topping the league. James Stevens, the secretary of Larkers, said: ?The club was founded almost five years ago and in that time has increased in membership, creating two separate teams. ?Unfortunately, due to our size, finance has became an increasing problem with insurance, pitch hire and equipment. In order to raise money for the club we have decided to hold a raffle in August which will mark our fifth year anniversary. We realise that in order to make money we must first have attractive prizes, therefore we are writing to local businesses for their support.? The club are hoping to raise £1,000 towards their costs. For businesses who would like to support the Larkers, James can be contacted on 01837 53300.
